Email us with questions, to request a Medfinder search, or to provide your insurance information for a prior-auth.
Complete your Intake Form at any time that is convenient for you.
We'll ask you to check back in monthly for the first few months to make sure you're doing OK on the medication. During those first few months, you'll need to return for a once-monthly follow up visit, which is $25 and also completed on our website at your convenience. Once you're cruising on the medication with no issues, we can send prescriptions for longer periods of time and you can visit us less often if you want.
1. You must not have any of the following:
You must have a BMI over 25. Calculate yours at: https://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/educational/lose_wt/BMI/bmicalc.htm
If your BMI is not over 25 because you have lost weight due to previous GLP1 treatment, you must send us evidence of having previously been on a GLP1.
Keep in mind that these are the requirements to be eligible for us to write the prescription. Your insurance may have different criteria for coverage.
You may have heard that these medications can be hard to track down. We have partnered with Medfinder by Insito Health to help you find your prescription without spending hours calling pharmacies for availability! This is offered as a free service to you with your initial visit - just let us know if you'd like to take advantage of this option. Searches associated with follow up visits are $30 each.
You must respond to our email sent after your visit is completed, and notify us that you DO want to use Medfinder, or we can't order their search for you.
We still hate insurance, but we'll facilitate the process for you to get your insurance company to pay for these medications (they're not cheap!). Visits with pAsync are still cash pay only, but you can submit the information regarding the visit to your insurance for reimbursement if you want.
We will complete the prior authorization paperwork that is required in 99.99999% of cases in order for insurance to cover the medication. We can't guarantee that your insurance will cooperate and approve coverage, but we will argue until all arguments have been exhausted. (My parents always told me I'd argue with a brick wall....)
How it works:
1. You complete your visit.
2. We review your visit and if you meet requirements, we'll send the prescription.
3. You will receive a follow up summary email from your visit and a request for your insurance information if you have it, so that we can complete the prior authorization. If you don't have it, no problem, just ignore that request.
4. THIS IS THE LONGEST PART! Your pharmacy will probably contact you and say they can't fill it because they're waiting on us to provide information, or that your provider isn't responding, or any number of things that are almost certainly inaccurate. (Trust us, we've been doing this a long time and we've heard it all.) Once they clear those up, they'll finally fill your prescription.
The short version is.....we don't know. There are lots of factors for that answer - the pharmacy used, how much they charge, how much your insurance will cover, how much you've paid on your deductible, if you're cash pay or not.....We can only evaluate you and write the prescription. Once it gets to the pharmacy, they are the ones with the answers on cost.
We write prescriptions for brand name GLP1s only. Too many issues with compounding pharmacies and legalities and safety issues, oh my.
You may send the prescription to any pharmacy you choose. You may even send the prescription to LillyDirect if you want to get Zepbound in vials (rather than the pen) for a lower price. Just choose "Lilly Direct Cash Pay" when choosing your pharmacy.
